Misinformation about Charles L. Twibell

I have removed Private 1st Class Charles L. Twibell from Coleman County simply because we have not found any evidence that he had connection to Coleman County. His birthplace is in Oklahoma, and he was living in Creek County, Oklahoma in 1930 census. No Coleman County connection found.

Charles Lewis Twibell born on 9 December 1924 at Mounds, Creek County, Oklahoma to Blanche Marie(b.3 Oct 1902 USA-d.23 Aug 1993 Oklahoma County, Oklahoma) Age 22 and unknown father. His step-father Frank Marion Twibell(b.16 May 1895 Indiana-d.29 Dec 1985 Gregg County, Texas) possibly buried in Pennville, Jay County, Indiana beside his 1st wife Gladys 1898-1928.

1930 census Age 5 living with his step-father and his mother, and a step-brother in Econtuchka, Seminole County, Oklahoma. Registered for the draft at Kilgore, Gregg County, Texas on 31 December 1942 while living at Gladewater and being unemployed and listed his mother, Mrs. Blanche Twibell Rt.2 Box 62 Gladewater, Texas, as his next of kin contact. Graduated from Gladewater High School class of 1943. Inducted into the US Army in June 1943 at Tyler, Texas. Trained at Camp MacKall, North Carolina. .

Private 1st Class Charles L. Twibell 38478795 US Army 517th Parachute Infantry Regiment 1st Airborne Division. He performed courageously during the war against the enemy German forces, being wounded in action, March 1945, and was awarded the Bronze Star for heroic action in combat. But he was killed in the line of duty during a non-battle event on 28 July 1945 while part of the occupation forces in France. He was buried in a temporary grave until his remains were reinterred in the Epinal American Cemetery and Memorial at Epinal, Departement des Vosges, Lorraine, France.
