I have removed Private 1st Class Erwin R. Stephens from Brown County's Honor Roll simply because we have not found any evidence that he had connection to Brown County. His hometown East Liverpool, Columbiana County, Ohio. He is not listed as a casualty on the Brown County list, but Erwin Stephens is listed on the original WWII memorial at Coggin Park, Brownwood, Texas.

Crawford of East Liverpool, Ohio, as his next of kin contact. Erwin R. Stephens asn-35289006 a single white male born Ohio in 1920 residing in Columbiana County, Ohio working as a cook with three years of high school education enlisted into the US Army as a private at Camp Perry LaCarne, Ohio on 19 March 1942.
