Technical Sergeant Elworth B. Mc Anally 38136014 US Army Air Forces 702nd Bombardment Squadron, 445th Bombardment Group Heavy was Top Turret Gunner on B-24H 42-50334 'Black Jack' out of England airfield on 11 July 1944 on a combat bombing mission to Munich, Germany. The B-24 was shot down leaving the target by anti-aircraft flak, the aircraft and all of the crew were statused as missing. The War Dept issued a FOD, finding of death, on 12 July 1945 declaring them all dead. TSgt McAnally is remembered on the Tablets of the Missing at the Cambridge American Cemetery in England.
