I have moved Pvt James C. Bentley from Brown County to Eastland County simply because we have not found any evidence that he had connection to Brown County in 1944. His hometown of Scranton, Eastland County, Texas and his parents and wife were living in Cisco, Eastland County, Texas in 1944-1945.
I have not found the Army enlistment record. I have left the NARA War Dept File plaque that shows hometown Brown County, but notice he is not listed on the original WWII memorial at Coggin Park, Brownwood, Texas.

I do not know who is responsible, the military probably since casualty identities was their responsibility especially to the next of kin.
