[tex flag] Over Fifty Four Hundred Veterans of World War One  [usa flag]

Welcome to the Heart of Texas World War One Veterans virtual memorial.

[news 1917]    [news 1918]

Here you'll find veterans born in the Heart of Texas, veterans living in the Heart of Texas when they entered the military, and veterans with the Heart of Texas as their last resting place.

The lists of honorees I have are those that I found from several sources:

County Memorials and Monuments, Newspapers, The War Dept. records, County Historical Societies, National Archives and Records Administration, but mainly FamilySearch.org, and of course, the cemeteries.  The honoree may have been born in one of the counties, lived or worked there, or his parents were residents of the county.  Anyway, there did not seem to be any requirements of nativity for an honoree to be listed on the county memorials.
