After his scheduled discharge on 18 August 1958, he had planned to get married.

The curve was wet from an afternoon shower. His body was recovered and the Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman was in charge of arrangements. On He was aboard a USAF Lockheed C‑130A‑7LM Hercules, serial 56‑0501 , assigned to the 95th Tactical Airlift Squadron, 440th Tactical Airlift Wing (Air Force Reserve), based at Billy Mitchell Field, Milwaukee. Departed Howard Air Force Base, Panama, en route to Trujillo‑Capiro Airport, Honduras for a scheduled resupply mission, with a planned stop at Comayagua. Following an uneventful flight from Howard Airbase in Panama, the crew started the approach to Trujillo Airport in marginal weather conditions. While completing a left turn at low height with gear and flaps retracted, the aircraft struck the water surface with its left wingtip. Out of control, it crashed in the sea about 8 miles northwest of the airport. All 21 occupants were killed. At the time of the accident, the visibility was estimated to be 2,500 meters in haze with a 1,500 feet ceiling and a northerly wind gusting to 25 knots. Foul weather hampered search and rescue efforts. About half of the victims’ bodies were recovered over the following days. LtCol Carnes' body was taken to the Davis-Morris Funeral Home in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas. Interment in the Eastlawn Memorial Park, Early, Brown County, Texas on Monday 28 January 1985. .

Chief Warrant Officer Third Grade Randall Gene Davis WO-467762034 US Army, 180th Aviation Company, United States Army Aviation, West Germany. Monday 25 February 1980 in the afternoon, he was pilot of the CH-47 Chinook on a maintenance test flight for installation of the number one engine. At approximately 500 feet, while conducting the turbine engine analysis check, the combining transmission phasing mechanism decoupled, resulting in rotor system dephasing and blade meshing. The forward and aft transmissions, and rotor systems separated in flight. The aircraft subsequently crashed into a pine forest along highway BAB 6 and was totally destroyed killing all five aboard. His body was escorted back to Goldthwaite, Mills County, Texas and buried in the Rocksprings Cemetery, Mills County, Texas on Friday 7 March 1980. .

Just minutes after takeoff at 1500 feet the bomber exploded and then crashed into the ground and burned, 10 miles southwest of the runway . All four crewmen were killed and all bodies were recovered. Maj Hatcher's remains were shipped to Coleman, Coleman County, Texas then interred in the Coleman City Cemetery on Tuesday 18 March 1958. .

Police said their motorcycle was traveling at an excessive speed and the two apparently failed to notice a dead end until too late. He was a ten year resident of Callahan County, Texas, since about 1964. Married Nancy Collins on 5 January 1970 in Baird, Callahan County, Texas. He joined the US Air Force on 21 September 1972 and had served in Alaska during the Vietnam War.

Sgt Szczur, who had just recently moved to Baird from Alaska, died of a single gunshot wound in his throat. A German made .22 caliber pistol was found near the body. Justice of the Peace pronounced the man dead at the scene at 5 p.m. Tuesday 29 October 1974. The J.P. made a final ruling of an accidental death in the case on 4 November 1974. Sgt Szczur 's body was removed to Godfrey Funeral Home in Baird, Callahan County, Texas for burial in the Ross Cemetery on Friday 1 November 1974.

He was killed in a car wreck on Monday 13 February 1978 in Vogelweh, Germany. No details were found in US newspapers on the internet about the wreck. His body was shipped to Comanche, Comanche County, Texas and buried in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery on Monday 20 February 1978. .

He graduated from De Leon High School in 1952. He barely 18 on 18 August 1953 when he married Lita Dell Terry in Arlington, Tarrant County, Texas. He graduated fron the University of Texas class of 1956. He entered the Regular US Army on 2 November 1956 receiving his commission through the ROTC at UT. His first marriage ended in divorce in Austin on 17 May 1957 and he remarried in 1960 to Delores Blakely, born in Jefferson County, Kentucky, and they had two children, a boy and a girl. Major Tilly graduated from the US Army Command and General Staff College in June 1968. He served during the Vietnam War and became a career soldier in the US Army serving in Germany, Iran, Vietnam and Hawaii.
Lieutenant Colonel Clyde C. Tilly Jr. 075044 US Army, Cincinnati District Recruiting Command, Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the commander of the 3rd Battlion, 77th Armored Brigade of the 5th Infantry Division at Fort Polk, Louisiana when in December 1975 he was assigned the command of the District Recruiting station in Cincinnati, Ohio. He and his family removed into a house at 12024 Mill Road, Springfield, Ohio in December 1975. A tragety occurred in that house on 17 May 1976 which caused the death of LCol Tilly, his wife and daughter. They died from carbon monoxide poisoning. All three bodies were shipped to De Leon, Comanche County, Texas and buried in the De Leon Cemetery on Friday 21 May 1976. .

He joined the US Army in September 1972 and completed eight weeks of basic training at the Infantry Training Center, Ft. Polk, Louisiana on 1 December 1972. He married LaNora Price 22 May 1975 in Goldthwaite, Texas. He was with Company B 1st Battalion 81st Armor at Ft. Hood, Texas and was promoted to Specialist Fourth Class in April 1974 before he was sent to Germany the same year.
Sergeant Terry Gene Williams 462949992 US Army Company C 2nd Battalion 64th Armor, Schweinfurt, Germany. He had been in Germany for fifteen months as a tank crewman and had been promoted to Sergeant. He was killed on 17 October 1975 in Germany, the result of an injury received in an Army tank accident while participating in a military training exercise. His body was recovered and escorted to Goldthwaite, Mills County, Texas for a funeral and then burial in the Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery on Friday 24 October 1975. .
